There’s something so remarkable about winter in Joshua Tree National Park! When Hayley and Jeremy told us they were coming all the way from Australia for their Joshua Tree elopement, we were even more excited to be a part of their special day.
As California elopement photographers, videographers, and planners, we made sure to plan an unforgettable elopement day for them! Keep reading to see more from their stunning day.
We love that Hayley and Jeremy chose Joshua Tree for their elopement. Winter is a neat time in Joshua Tree because sometimes you get days that aren’t typical for a desert elopement—but they are equally as epic. That’s exactly what happened for Hayley and Jeremy’s day! We actually got a lot of rain, and then we got some really cool fog at the end of the day. Not to mention, we had the majority of the places we went to ourselves since it wasn’t peak season. All of this made for amazing elopement photos and memories!
Hayley and Jeremy’s day began with them both getting ready at their Airbnb. They stayed in separate spaces to not spoil their first look later in the afternoon.
Hayley had her hair and makeup professionally done before getting into her long-sleeved lace wedding dress. Meanwhile, Jeremy got into his suit for the big day. We love the little details they incorporated into their elopement outfits, like Hayley’s suede hat and Jeremy’s bolo tie. Truly, no detail went unnoticed by them!
After getting ready, we headed off for Hayley and Jeremy’s first look and couples portraits at Hidden Valley Picnic Area. The rain had picked up some, but luckily for them, we brought our trusty clear umbrellas! They’re practical and always make for nice rainy-day photos. We love how Hayley and Jeremy embraced the weather and made the most of their day, even with the rain at the beginning.
After their first look, we made our way to Cap Rock for their elopement ceremony. Nestled between two trees, Lee officiated Hayley and Jeremy’s ceremony. They each read their vows and sealed it with the exchanging of rings and a kiss, of course!
Following their elopement ceremony, we headed to Cholla Cactus Garden. This area made for a unique photo backdrop, and it served as our picnic spot! Hayley and Jeremy had a little picnic in the back of the Jeep at the garden. It was the perfect opportunity for them to relax and take in the moment.
Once we packed up, we made our way to Keys View. We were initially bummed because we didn’t get to see the sunset there, but then we saw the jaw-dropping fog in its place. It made for some incredible photos!
We always like visiting Keys View during Joshua Tree elopements because it makes for great photos, no matter the weather. Sunset is always magical there. In fact, here’s a peek from the day before Hayley and Jeremy’s elopement when we were there scouting locations!
