Heavenly Ski Resort Wedding | Anna & Gordon

Anna and Gordon had an intimate Heavenly Ski Resort wedding! It was a beautiful summer day, and Anna and Gordon were such a joy to work with and photograph. 

The couple’s history goes all the way back to childhood. They were longtime friends turned lovers and first began dating while at Chico State together. They had so much fun with their wedding guests at their wedding!

Their Heavenly Ski Resort Wedding Ceremony

Anna and Gordon, along with their guests, rode a gondola up to the top of the ski resort for the outdoor wedding ceremony. The ceremony took place at 8,000 feet with a breathtaking backdrop of the mountains and Lake Tahoe. There were little patches of snow at the top of the mountain since the winter was so crazy in Tahoe this year. It was actually the first wedding of the year for the venue, and it couldn’t have been a better season opener. 

Following the ceremony, the guests moved to the patio area just next to the ceremony space for the cocktail hour. They continued to take in the amazing panoramic views before heading inside. 

Their Heavenly Ski Resort Wedding Reception

The guests and the couple got situated in the Lakeview Lodge for dinner and toasts. Upon entering the reception space, guests were in awe of all the details Anna and Gordon incorporated into their wedding day. The first thing everyone saw in the reception room was an adventure-themed welcome sign that fit their wedding day perfectly! Then, the place cards telling guests where they would be seated for the evening were ski lift tickets perched on top of real skis. Anna and Gordon had the coolest cake topper with figurines of them with their respective skis and snowboard. The reception was filled with so many personal touches!

We headed out for some sunset couples portraits before the speeches. That’s always a fun part of the wedding day for us and the couple! Even from indoors, everyone was able to take in the gorgeous backdrop. The guests didn’t want to stop watching as the sun set behind Mt. Tallac. After the speeches, everyone headed outdoors for the first dances. Anna and Gordon’s first dance was timed perfectly with the sun sinking below the mountain. It looked like something out of a movie! After, the couple and their guests danced the night away under the stars and romantic string lights. It was truly such a magnificent day!
