Yosemite holds a special spot in Josh and Mia’s hearts, especially since it’s where Josh popped the question. During an early morning walk through the meadow on their way to get their morning coffee, Josh asked Mia to marry him! It’s no wonder they decided to honor that beautiful memory with an early morning wedding in the very place that means so much to them.

Their Wedding Timeline

Their sunrise Glacier Point Amphitheater wedding began bright and early! Here’s an overview of their day.

6:30 am – The day kicked off with a breathtaking sunrise ceremony (officiated by Lee) at the Glacier Point Amphitheater. 

6:45 – The newlyweds swayed to the rhythm of Lee’s guitar for their first dance as husband and wife.

7:00 – With their family gathered around, they raised a toast and posed for a few family photos.

7:30 – Then, we captured some couple’s portraits as the sun continued to rise. Glacier Point made for a stunning backdrop!

8:00 – The couple rejoined their guests for a scenic and relaxed picnic at the lookout point. 

8:30 – Next, we set off for Taft Point for a change in scenery. We set out for a hike and more photos!

8:45 – We hiked while capturing the newlyweds against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Taft Point.

10:00 – We set back towards the starting point, reflecting on an incredible wedding day.

10:30 – As the morning turned into late morning, the elopement reached its end. We were sad to say goodbye to Mia and Josh, but we’re so honored to have been a part of their love story.

Their Glacier Point Amphitheater Wedding

Mia and Josh’s wedding day began with an early morning ceremony set against the backdrop of a beautiful sunrise. The sun’s gentle light painted the surroundings with a golden hue as they exchanged their vows. The couple’s thirty guests, including their precious one-year-old daughter, watched on and shared in their happiness from the amphitheater stairs. 

After the ceremony, Mia and Josh had a romantic first dance as the sun continued to rise behind them. It was one of those sweet moments that felt just right. Then came some family and friend photos and a celebratory toast! The morning flowed into a leisurely picnic complete with great company, remarkable views, and fresh mountain air. Then came the time to say goodbye to their crew, and off we went to Taft Point for a hike.

Celebrating with a Taft Point Hike 

Following their heartfelt ceremony and delightful picnic with their guests, we set out to hike Taft Point. It’s a scenic two-mile trail that offers sweeping views of the magnificent Yosemite Valley and the iconic El Capitan. The views truly can’t be beaten, and it makes for some gorgeous wedding photos! What makes this hike a winner is its gradual terrain, and an added bonus is that it’s not typically overflowing with crowds. It’s the perfect post-sunrise Glacier Point wedding hike. 

Mia and Josh’s day couldn’t have been more wonderful! From the ethereal sunrise ceremony to the laid-back picnic, culminating in the breathtaking views of their Taft Point hike, their celebration was absolutely perfect.
