Double Eagle Resort and Spa sits in the heart of June Lake, which is often called the “Switzerland of California.” The setting has it all with mountain views, peaceful ponds, and wide-open skies. It’s hard not to fall in love with this venue!
Elizabeth and Elijah’s wedding fit the setting perfectly. These two were middle school sweethearts. Their classic blue color palette looked stunning against the natural landscape. This was my first time photographing here, and it’s already one of my favorites.

Double Eagle Resort and Spa sits in June Lake, just outside of Mammoth. June Lake is such a hidden gem in the Eastern Sierra. It’s a true four-season resort, so it’s beautiful no matter when you visit. As a husband and wife photographer and videographer duo, we love that every season brings something different, whether it’s snow on the peaks or wildflowers by the lake. It makes for unique wedding photos!
This property feels like it was made for weddings. The mountain backdrop is incredible, and the grounds are full of beautiful photo spots. You’ll find waterfalls, tall pines, and rushing streams around every corner.
Plus, the resort itself has so much to offer. There’s a pool, a full fitness center, and plenty of activities like fly fishing, kayaking, and horseback riding. You and your guests will never be bored!
For wedding parties, the guest house is a favorite. It sleeps up to twelve people and gives you space to spread out. With 2,300 square feet, it includes a fireplace, full kitchen, two bedrooms plus a bunk room, and even a laundry room. Guests also get access to the Creekside Spa and Fitness Center, which makes it easy to relax before or after the big day.
Double Eagle Resort and Spa has a few different spots you can choose from, depending on your style and guest count.
This is the main ceremony site, and it’s hard to beat. Guests sit on a grassy lawn facing a peaceful pond, with Carson Peak towering in the background. The wooden arch and chairs keep the setting natural and simple, and it’s just a short walk from the cabins and resort rooms, which is super convenient for everyone.
If you’re planning something smaller, the Lodge is a cozy choice. Think vaulted wood ceilings, a massive stone fireplace, and big windows that frame the alpine views. It’s rustic, warm, and has that true mountain lodge feel.
Most receptions take place here, and for good reason. The tented deck sits high enough to give you panoramic views of the Sierra, while still offering shelter from the elements. As the sun sets, the space feels magical, and your guests can dance the night away in the open air.
This venue is perfect for couples who want everything in one place. Guests can stay right on the property, which makes the whole weekend feel relaxed and seamless. From the moment you arrive, the experienced staff steps in to take care of the details.
The resort’s Special Events Coordinator can help with nearly everything including ceremony setup, rehearsal dinners, spa appointments, and lodging arrangements for your guests. Couples who want a stress-free planning experience will especially love having this level of support.
It’s also ideal for couples who want a wedding that blends luxury with nature. With mountain views, lush landscaping, and access to resort amenities like the spa, pool, and outdoor adventure options, you get a full experience for both you and your guests. Everything is right here, so you can focus on enjoying the day together.
One of our favorite spots for photos nearby is Silver Lake, just a two-minute drive from the resort. The lake and surrounding scenery make for stunning backdrops, especially during golden hour.
Many guests stay in Mammoth, which has plenty of restaurants and lodging options, but June Lake is a charming little town too. If your guests want a more low-key experience, there are cute spots to grab a meal or explore before or after the wedding.
Wedding pricing is published on their website and is as follows:
These fees include all the rentals, set up, break down and staff. White or black linens as well as napkins are included. Tax and gratuity is added to the food and beverage total.
