Skylandia Park Elopement | Jessica & Kyle

Jessica and Kyle traveled all the way from the East Coast to elope in Lake Tahoe, and their day couldn’t have been more fun or relaxed. They got ready in a super cute black A-frame cabin tucked between the trees. The space had a cozy, woodsy feel that fit Tahoe perfectly. After a few getting ready photos, they shared a first look out on the patio and even climbed onto the ski-lift chair in the backyard for a few shots.

After, we headed to Skylandia Park for their ceremony on the beach. The breeze picked up a little, but it worked in our favor and gave us the pier all to ourselves. After a few photos around the park, we made our way to Sand Harbor to catch the evening light. They set up a small picnic with a charcuterie board, popped some champagne, and ended their day watching the sun drop behind the mountains.

Their Love Story

Jessica and Kyle first met in their early twenties through mutual friends. Jessica remembers thinking Kyle was “a total BABE” right from the start. Life pulled them in different directions for a while, but they reconnected after she moved back home. According to Jessica, it took two full months of sending memes back and forth before Kyle finally asked to hang out.

Their connection is clearly fun, lighthearted, and rooted in friendship. It shows in how they are together. You can see it in the way they laugh and how comfortable they are around each other. Their elopement felt like an extension of that energy.

Their Elopement Timeline

With a four-hour timeline, we made sure Jessica and Kyle could take their time and enjoy every part of their elopement. Here’s how their day flowed:

2:00 PM – Getting ready photos & first look at their Airbnb
2:45 PM – Drive to Skylandia Park
3:00 PM – Ceremony and photos on the beach at Skylandia
4:00 PM – Drive to Sand Harbor
4:30 PM – Picnic, photos, and champagne pop at Sand Harbor
6:00 PM – Wrapped up photos and the couple headed to dinner after

Ceremony at Skylandia Park

Skylandia Park is such a great spot for elopements. It offers a sandy beach, a long wooden pier, and clear views of the lake. The wind picked up a little during Jessica and Kyle’s ceremony, but it worked out nicely for us. The breeze cleared the pier and gave us the whole space to ourselves! 

After they exchanged vows, we walked around the park for photos on the pier, in the trees, and along the shoreline. We love that Skylandia has a nice mix of backdrops without needing a long walk.

Sunset at Sand Harbor

From there, we drove to Sand Harbor for more sunset photos. The water was calm and clear and the sunset was gorgeous as always. Jessica and Kyle brought a charcuterie board and set up a simple picnic on the sand. It was the perfect way to slow down and soak in the moment.

We explored the boulders, took photos by the water, and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Sand Harbor always brings out the best evening colors, and this day was no exception. It was the perfect ending before they headed off to their dinner reservation.
