Mini Moon – Northern California – A Short Honeymoon
Many 2020 couples are deciding to do mini moon’s for their honeymoon until the world get’s back to traveling and they can do their original plans. Mini moons are a long weekend of relaxation after your wedding day that are generally close to home, yet far enough away to “get away”. These can be super adventurous and a great time to take some intimate portraits and explore the beauty close to home. Amber and Shea decided to rent a cabin Airbnb and mini moon in Northern California close to the redwoods and amazing landscapes. In my opinion, a perfect location for a mini moon! Here’s a little bit of their story.
We started their session by capturing some moments of the two of them in their PJ’s doing what they loved to do when they relax. Amber reading a book and Shea playing his Nintendo Switch.
Amber and Shae love to play this board game called . It’s one of their favorite things to do together, so they wanted to capture some moments remember their time with this game.
After a little playing with the game, we decided to do some portraits around the cabin, since it was such a beautiful rustic spot.
After the cabin photos, it was time to explore! We had picked out this awesome state park called Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve and it was such a magical place. You could get the giant redwoods at the basin and then drive up this crazy road to get an epic view of the mountain sunset and 360 degree views of the mountain. The road was definitely a bit tricky but I made it up in my truck to the top parking area. This park had everything with a bit of adventuring mixed in!
The trees were amazing and felt so magical! It was time to drive to the top and check out the sunset! The road is about a 15 minute drive to top and 1 way, so you really have to maneuver some turns, but the payoff was more than worth it!
The day ended up absolutely perfect and we were able to capture some amazing moments as well as create some memories that will last a lifetime! Mission accomplished!
