Christine and Tracy’s Lake Tahoe elopement was simple and full of sweet moments. They started the afternoon getting ready at their resort in South Lake Tahoe, then we made our way to Emerald Bay for their ceremony. The overlook was quiet, and it was the perfect place for them to exchange their private vows. Afterward, we headed to Sand Harbor to catch the sunset and wrap up the day with more photos on the beach.
As a Lake Tahoe elopement photographer and videographer duo, Christine and Tracy’s elopement day was all we could have hoped for! Keep reading for inspiration for your own Tahoe elopement.

These two met through mutual friends at a house party. Tracy remembers hearing Christine’s laugh before she even saw her. It stuck with her in a way she didn’t expect. Christine noticed right away how steady and kind Tracy was, especially in a room full of people she didn’t know well. That instant comfort turned into curiosity, and curiosity turned into connection.
You can still see that same quiet understanding between them. It’s in the way they check in with each other, the way they laugh, and how natural they are together. Their elopement reflected that energy. It was so easy and genuine.

We worked with Christine and Tracy to plan a smooth afternoon that gave them time to enjoy each part of the day without rushing. Here’s the elopement timeline:
12:00 PM – Getting ready at Caesars Resort
1:00 PM – First look at the resort
1:15 PM – Drive to Emerald Bay
1:45 PM – Ceremony and photos at Emerald Bay
2:45 PM – Drive to Sand Harbor
3:45 PM – Sunset photos at Sand Harbor
5:00 PM – Wrapped up photos and the couple headed to dinner to celebrate
If you’re not sure which Tahoe locations fit your vision or what time of day gives you the best light, don’t stress. We help with all of that in our elopement packages. From choosing your ceremony spot to planning your timeline, we’re with you every step of the way.
Emerald Bay is always a beautiful choice for elopements, but it felt especially peaceful for Christine and Tracy. The afternoon light was soft, and we had the viewpoint all to ourselves which was a special treat. They exchanged private vows overlooking the lake. It was simple, heartfelt, and exactly what they pictured.
After their ceremony, we explored the area and took photos with the classic Emerald Bay backdrop. It’s a spot that offers a lot of variety without needing a long hike, which makes it perfect for couples who want great views and an easy experience.
Permit note: Emerald Bay requires a $450 ceremony permit, but we hold a yearly permit here. That means our couples don’t need to file paperwork or stress about details. We handle all of it!

From there, we drove to Sand Harbor to catch the sunset. It’s one of the best places in Tahoe for warm evening light and wide-open views. The water, granite boulders, and beach give us plenty of spots to explore without rushing.
Christine and Tracy spent the last part of their day enjoying the sunset, climbing over the rocks, and soaking in that just-married joy. The sky turned soft and golden, and the lake gave us the prettiest reflection. It was the perfect ending before they headed off to their dinner reservation.
Permit note: Sand Harbor requires a $50 photo permit, and we also hold a yearly permit here. So again, no forms or applications needed for our couples!
