Julia and Alec’s Convict Lake Resort wedding was an absolute delight to capture! This stunning venue provided the perfect backdrop for their summer celebration. From the intimate birch tree ceremony to the fun reception, every moment was perfect. We were thrilled to be part of their special day and can’t wait to share more about their wedding day.
Julia and Alec began their wedding day with their wedding parties in the resort’s charming cabins, all close to the lake. The large cabins offered amazing mountain views right outside, making for some fantastic getting-ready shots.
Their ceremony took place in an incredible field of birch trees. The shade from the trees was a huge perk! Guests watched on as Julia and Alec said their vows under the birch arbor. It was heartwarming to see how they beautifully incorporated their Jewish traditions into the ceremony, from the breaking of the glass to the songs sung by the officiants.
After the ceremony, we hopped on a resort-provided bus to the lake for family, couples, and bridal party photos. Once we wrapped up the portraits, Julia and Alec joined their guests for the outdoor cocktail hour.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued indoors in a beautiful building with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. This venue was awesome because it provided great lighting while still offering the comfort of a temperature-controlled space. It felt almost like being outside still!
Julia and Alec made a grand entrance and shared a heartwarming first dance. Adding another personal touch to the evening, some of the bridesmaids played live music during their dance. This was just one of the many special elements that made their day uniquely theirs!
Guests then enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by the resort, which featured a variety of vegetarian options. The food was exceptional—definitely among the best I’ve tasted at a wedding!
As the night progressed, the dance floor came alive with energy. The traditional hora dance was a highlight, with Julia and Alec being lifted high by their guests. A special treat was their friend performing on the didgeridoo, adding another memorable touch.
Although we didn’t make it back to the lake for sunset photos this time, I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to capture couples against that outstanding backdrop. Sunset shots at the lake with the mountains would be absolutely breathtaking.
