"When we decided to elope we knew we wanted to hike to a gorgeous spot to do it, but was concerned about finding a photographer willing/able to hike and document it. I did some internet searching and found Mindful Media Photography/Angie. She was more than willing to join us for our adventure elopement. Then the Dixie fire changed all our plans, the location of our wedding burned and the state closed all of the forests for our scheduled date. Angie worked with us to find a date that she was available before the likelihood of snow in the high country. When she showed up she felt like an old friend. She welcomed my six year old daughter to be right next to her taking photos with her kid camera like Angie while she photographed flowers/jewelry/etc. We are not really people who love to be in front of the camera, but she made us feel comfortable and the photos show it in the relaxed look. We are located in the beautiful city of Grass Valley, CA. There's no place quite like home, so we focus on elopements in Northern California, with Lake Tahoe being our primary service area. However, we have also done elopements throughout the West Coast and other locations around the US. We lived and traveled in an RV for ten years, visiting every National Park along the way. We are adventure people who have been to incredible destinations and can help you plan anywhere. We're always down to adventure if you're looking for a destination elopement!

Not if you don't want to :) We have locations all over Northern California, especially Tahoe, with amazing landscape views and very little hiking. We also have areas that are ADA accessible.
Of course, you can! As a family of four, we make time for family adventures and bring our kiddos everywhere with us. We love when couples bring them along! Of course, kids and family are always welcome to join us. Our elopement packages and planning services are available for guests lists of 20 or less.
- Once you book with us, we send you over a 100+ page elopement guide to help jumpstart your research and inspiration!
- Next, we send a detailed questionnaire to get to know you better, so we can begin location scouting. We want to help you find the perfect backdrop for your elopement ceremony.
- Then, we create a location guide customized for you!
- Once you choose your location, we send an email to advise you with the following steps reminding you to book your lodging and travel arrangements.
- We'll also send over our vendor recommendations for your area to help you find needed vendors for your day so that you can book them as far in advance as possible.
- You'll also receive permit information and links to help you get the correct information for your location. You'll need to secure special event permits for many sites, but we'll take care of any permitting necessary for our photography and videography services.
- A few months before your elopement date, you'll receive a second questionnaire to help us better understand your vision for your day.
- As soon as we receive your reply, we'll begin creating your custom elopement timeline
- At some point throughout this process, you'll need to get your marriage license. We're available to answer any questions about obtaining your marriage license— you can't get married without it!
- We'll reach out a few weeks before your adventure elopement to check in on any last-minute details, discuss weather forecasts and ensure everything is ready for your elopement day!
- Last but certainly not least, you finally get to elope and have the most amazing day ever!
We have couples book their Yosemite or Lake Tahoe wedding or elopement with us 1.5 years in advance, while others reach out to us and have one week to plan it all. If our schedule is open, we will do our best to make it happen, but there are no guarantees. We suggest reaching out as soon as you decide to elope or giving yourself at least six months' notice for a more comfortable, relaxed planning experience. Advanced planning also gives you the best options for lodging or Airbnb rentals, which can book up quickly, especially in Tahoe.

We can photograph in rain or sunshine. However, California also has wildfires and snowstorms, so we choose to be flexible. We understand that sometimes things are out of anyone's control. If you're eloping during wildfire or winter, we plan multiple backup options so we can be ready to pivot at a moment's notice. Luckily, California has fantastic locations all over, so it's easy to find alternative options.
