Natasha and Cody had a vision to elope in the magical giant redwoods on the Northern Coast and their day couldn’t be more perfect! These two chose to get married in March which is a great time of year due to less tourist, however the weather can be unpredictable as well. As was their week of the wedding. The weather forecast showed rain for 10 days straight and this one day in the middle of it with sunshine. This just so happened to be their chosen elopement day. 3/3/2023. So glad we had the perfect weather for this day as it created the best lighting scenerios with the Redwood Trees!
I was really excited to share their Redwoods elopement day and timeline as it was such a perfect mix of a day! If I were to plan a redwoods elopement in the Northern California Coast this would be exactly what I would do with my day. We have done quite a few weddings on the Northern Coast and this is my favorite combination! I think it’s the mix of the rainforest vibes in the redwood trees as well as the coastal trail hike that’s only 20 minutes down road. It’s one of the best drives through a redwood forest that we have found so far. I even like it better then the Avenue of the Giants, which is absolutely amazing as well! This one was just a little more secluded and intimate feeling.
It’s not often that we get high school sweethearts but when we do you can just feel the love radiating off them and the pictures just come so easy. What’s also pretty neat is the both the bride and grooms parents were high school sweet hearts as well! How rare is that?! So excited to share these two love birds day and what I think would be the best Redwood Elopement day in Northern California!
*** If you have more time, I would recommend exchanging the Enderts Beach adventure with a Samuel h. Boardman State Scenic Corridor adventure! There are some really amazing view points all over that coast and it’s only 40 minutes away!
Here’s some pics of my family and I at the Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor for reference:
It’s pretty easy to get a special event permit for Jedediah Smith Redoods State Park and they only cost $100. They have pre approved location list to choose from but you can also pay an additional fee for a total of $200 to choose your own location within the park. This location does still need to get approved by the park
Here’s a list of their pre approved locations:
